My Quilts

In 1994, I didn’t have any hobbies. I worked full time, was a wife and mother, but knew I needed to make time for myself to have fun with a new hobby! I had an old Singer (that my mother had purchased new for me back in ’69), and I freely admit I never used it (I hope she doesn’t see this!).

Anyway, I wasn’t interested in garment sewing, but quilts were a beauty to behold! I took a class at The Quilter’s Ranch, and was hooked from then on. I used my Singer for many years, but now my studio is home to a Pfaff 7550, Bernina 200E, Janome 6600P, BabyLock Ellisimo, and my class favorite, a reconditioned candy apple red Featherweight 221. What can I say, I’m spoiled.

I absolutely love to piece quilts (and sometimes I actually do the quilting), but I don’t enjoy binding. Oh well, but in the end I cherish what I’ve created. Here are some of my quilts. Enjoy!

I worked on this Thimbleberries' Safe Haven quilt for several years. Imagine my surprise to see AFTER I'd finished it, that one of my birdhouses was sideways! :(
