Four days of more sewing, laughing, joking and little sleep. Always worth it!

Phyllis and Nancy doing the usual pajama night serenade. This time Phyllis was Minnie Pearl and Nancy was Dolly Parton.

These ladies are the funniest. There were lots more photos, including some that weren’t quite G-rated. You get a bunch of crazy women together, aged 50 and up, and it’s bound to be a hoot. I wouldn’t miss these retreats for the world. Always worth the lack of sleep

This was a 5-week project. Unfortunately, I have no photos of me covered head to foot in white drywall dust!

We replaced the carpet with laminate wood flooring

We built the wall behind these cabinets to hide them from view in the dining room.

Well, I only got a few photos yesterday at the quilt show before my camera battery died. That’s what I get for not recharging it after just returning from the Sunshine Quilters Guild. Oh, well . . . please enjoy these nonetheless. The work is impressive!

My thanks to Teresa Wiesendanger for asking me to speak to the wonderful members of her Guild. This video shows the wonderful members of SQG who stitched and quilted all of these quilts for donation to a local domestic violence charity. Excellent work, ladies. Keep it up!

I finished piecing this quilt top just before my trip. I shared it with the audience during their Show N Tell.

Check out the view from my host's back door. That's El Capitan Reservoir in El Cajon.

I purchase used cubicle panels for my clients to use as design walls. And, if you angle the panel out into the room, and you’ve got a 2-sided design wall.

Four days of sewing, laughing and joking. I’m darned tired today but it was well worth it!

That's me with my candy apple red Featherweight (and a candy apple, thanks to Phyllis!)

I pieced this Harvest Time quilt in two and a half days

That's Roberta peeking over the top of her stunning dragonfly quilt

Here’s some of my favorites from their last show. Look at this first photo. It’s a hexagon-shaped quilt (98″ x 102″) by Michiko Takakuwa of Japan, simply titled “My Flower”.

Another beauty!

Tea and berries at the bistro -- yum!

Over the past several years, I’ve donated lots of fabric to this wonderful charity and I even feature them in my presentations. But I thought this is the perfect opportunity to share their accomplishments with you.
AZ Blankets 4 Kids is a non-profit organization run by caring volunteers who make blankets for seriously ill or traumatized children. Their motto is that every child has the right to feel secure in the world — amen to that!
The organization recently passed an incredible milestone of 50,000 blankets/quilts delivered since their inception in 2001.
I recently had the privilege of joining this group for one of their fabric/kit cutting bees. Check out these photos!

Linda took over 100 photos from her New Orleans visit to speak to members of the Gulf States Quilting Association. Here’s just a few of the photos from Ilaine’s studio.
Enjoy!

Linda and the magnificent Ilaine Hartman

Beautiful costumes, and lots of Swarovski Crystals

Some of the gold shoes for those who appear annually in the Mardi Gras parade (there's LOTS more shoes!). Ilaine stores them all year long.

Queen of Mardi Gras? Hardly -- it's just Linda.

This is the cape that Rex, the King, will wear.

Get this -- rolling balls sewn into the underside of Rex's cape so that it rolls smoothlessly behind him in the parade!
